Emily Hayden grew up in Bloomfield Village, Michigan, where she began dancing at the age of three. She completed her training at the School of American Ballet, and went on to dance professionally for three years with the Richmond Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet II. In May of 2010, Emily graduated pre-med from Columbia with a major in Philosophy.
