Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Melissa Kaufman-Gomez has been dancing since she could walk. In high school, Melissa trained under the direction of Mark Foehringer, Brian Fisher, and Heather Cooper at the Conservatory for Contemporary Dance Arts (formerly Teen Dance Company). In 2013, she traveled to Peru with Mark Foehringer Dance Project to perform with Ballet San Marcos and students at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. This past summer, she was thrilled to intern on an interactive physics and dance simulation called danceroom Spectroscopy. Melissa is a senior in Columbia College hoping to study Computer Science and Dance. She has worked with choreographers including Donna Salgado and Andrea Miller through CBC and the Barnard Department of Dance.
