Julia Davis-Porada grew up in Norwalk, CT and trained at the Connecticut Dance School under Alan Woodard before continuing her training with the St. Paul’s School Ballet Company in Concord, NH under Jennifer Howard. During her time at St. Paul’s, Julia had the pleasure of performing Paul Taylor’s Airs and Esplanade, Ohad Naharin’s Minus 16, August Bournonville’s Flower Festival, Nicole Pierce’s Hold Four in the Middle, and Yvonne Rainer’s Trio A. While there, she also worked with principal dancers of companies such as Miami City Ballet, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Twyla Tharp Dance, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company and with master ballet teachers from Boston Ballet, the Balanchine Trust and New York City Ballet. Julia attended summer dance programs at the Kirov Academy of Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She is now a senior at Columbia College studying biochemistry. Julia joined CBC during her first semester at Columbia.
