Eleanor Altholz was born and raised in Portland, Maine, where she trained in ballet from the age of four to eighteen at the Portland School of Ballet. Eleanor attended various summer ballet programs, including Walnut Hill Summer Dance Program and Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program, until deciding to begin studying modern dance more intensively later in high school, attending the Paul Taylor Dance Company (now Paul Taylor's American Modern Dance) summer intensive, and the Joffrey Ballet School Jazz and Contemporary intensive. Eleanor is a junior at Barnard College where she studies both ballet and modern dance. She joined Columbia Ballet Collaborative in her first semester and was privileged to perform in works by Andrew Harper and Nancy Cantine. Eleanor is so excited to be a part of CBC and is inspired every day by the dance community at Barnard and Columbia.
